Description
Australian Standards AS1418.19 (Section 2.11) states that you can not lift a load with a jib greater than 3 tonnes without a rated capacity indicator. Installing the MCL will limit the lifting load on the jib to 3 tonnes, making the telehandler with the jib attachment AS1418.19 compliant, without having to purchase an expensive rated capacity indicator.
Once a compatible jib has been attached to the telehandler it is identified by the MCL's automatic attachment recognition system, requiring no user intervention to activate the system.
The maximum rated load can be factory set to a load lower than 3 tonne, to suit the maximum lifting capacity of the jib attachment.
The majority of rating charts specify that the jib can only be used when in a horizontal position, an angle more than a few degrees off the horizontal is beyond the manufacturers recommendations. If the jib attachment is beyond the specified angle the machine's hydraulic cutout will engage.
Once maximum rated capacity is reached the MCL engages the machine's hydraulic cutout which prevents the operator from moving the boom. To temporarily deactivate the MCL movement limiting capabilities hit the emergency override button, this will allow the operator to move the machine beyond it's limits for a certain amount of time.
