The eQSS Model 6242 Crane Safety Appliance (CSA) provides a complete solution to the requirements of AS1418.5-2002 (Section 7.3), for use on mobile cranes, tower cranes, truck cranes and hoists of all types. The ability to use low-cost sensors ensures the cost of new installations are kept to a minimum.

 When active it disables the LCD back light and LED graph as well as all visual and audio warning systems. Useful for a pick and carry crane.

  • Stop Indicators
 Stop indictors appear on the screen when the crane has exceeded a specific limit. The type of indicator identifies which limit has been exceeded.
  • 100% Capacity Indicator
 Lifting load greater than recommended lifting load.
  • ATB Indicator
 Prevents two block situation.
  • User Limits
 There is an individual limit indicator for each user selectable limit listed below in the next section.

  • Boom Length
 Minimum and/or Maximum Boom Length.
  • Boom Angle
 Minimum and/or Maximum Boom Length.
  • Working Radius
 Minimum and/or Maximum Working Radius.
  • Height
 Minimum and/or Maximum Height.
  • Carrier Tilt
 Maximum Over Side Carrier Tilt.
  • Wind Speed
 Two wind speed level limits can be set to perform actions such as display a message box or activate an alarm.
Other Configurable Settings
  • Stored Indexes
 Storage of all index values such as boom or fly index lengths, allowing for faster rigging.
  • Security / User Level Access Features
 To prevent unauthorised access to the configuration and calibration settings. Three security levels.
  • Annual calibration reminder
 To remain complement with AS1418.5-2002
  • Adjustable display settings
 Such as display invert, contrast level to optimal levels. Or connect a switch to change display between day or night operation.
  • ATB Length Mode
 Useful on pick and carry cranes. Disables the ATB when the boom length is below a certain limit. Allows a load to be lifted while the hook is in a two-block state.
  • Emergency Override Switch
 Allows the crane to temporarily operate while exceeding a limit. After a certain amount of time the unit returns to automatic limiting mode.
