Description

The eQSS Model 6245 Telehandler Safety Appliance (TSA) uses a large 6 inch display to provide the operator with detailed information about the current state of the machine.

The TSA uses automatic attachment recognition, as opposed to user attachment selection which if the wrong attachment is selected could result in a higher rated capacity than the machine can provide, making the machine unsafe. Using automatic attachment recognition also allows for fast attachment switching eliminating the need to disconnect/reconnect plugs.

The top right of the screen contains numerical measurements of the boom position, including boom length, angle, height and working radius. The current wind speed at the top of the boom is also display, when fitted with an anemometer.

The lower right of the screen displays the carrier stability and outrigger status. There are two carrier stability readouts for lateral & longitudinal slope angle which have a display resolution of 0.1°, the icon switches direction to match the slope direction. The maximum lifting capacity of the machine is reduced when the outriggers are up or unpressurised, when in this state the outrigger icon displays an exclamation symbol, indicating the machine is de-rated.

Once maximum rated capacity is reached the TSA engages the machine's hydraulic cutout which prevents the operator from moving the boom. To temporarily deactivate the TSA movement limiting capabilities hit the emergency override button, this will allow the operator to move the machine beyond it's limits for a certain amount of time. When working close to maximum rated capacity the light tower will indicate the current status to people around the telehandler, alerting them to the possible hazard.
